Limestone.
Limestone is a photographic series documenting the geometry and formation of limestone pavements. Ancient landscapes composed of fractured limestone slabs shaped by millennia of weathering that have been quietly etched by water, time and pressure.
The flat, block-like surfaces known as clints form a natural stone mosaic, their pale surfaces catching light and shadow in subtle tonal shifts. Between them lie deep cracks called grikes, vertical cracks widened by rainwater dissolving the calcium carbonate along joints in the rock. These grikes create sheltered micro-habitats where moisture lingers and rare ferns and wildflowers take root, in contrast to the exposed, wind-scoured clints above.
Through close observation and shifting perspectives, the work explores the tension between solidity and fragility, surface and depth, revealing limestone pavements as both a geological archive and a living, breathing terrain.

All photographs in this gallery are available as unframed limited edition prints.
Gallery Edition prints are produced as archival pigment prints on Hahnemühle fine art Photo Rag 308gsm paper, printed with a white border, signed and numbered in pencil, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. Each photograph is limited to a worldwide edition of 50 prints across all sizes.
